GITGIT Bali's picturesque and available waterfall

The Power of the waterfall Git Git

There are many places to explore within Bali, but almost every tropical Island has a significant water feature and Bali is no exception.  Waterfall  GITGIT near Singaraja towards the north of the island is a must see.   It is a magical feature which makes for a very pleasant day out.  The journey to the north is very scenic as it drifts into the more remote regions of Bali and away from the tourist spots congregating in the south of the Island.

As you draw closer to GITGIT you can see the splendor of the rushing water as it cascades from the hills above.  It has a power, a force, a cleansing fresh feel and look.  It is enticing as it lures you closer.  By now you will have absorbed the wonderful climate that Bali offers and be ready to take the plunge into the pool at the base of the waterfall. As you make your way closer to this great wonder you will feel the rush of water pirouetting from the rocks and foliage from the heavens and enjoy the respite from the Bali sun provided by the mist as it wafts across you.
There are a number of ways in which you can enter the water and join in the revelry already in abundance and splash in the clean and fresh pool, dive under the fresh and aerated waters as they come off the hills above, feel the beat on your head and shoulders, and experience the tingle within your body as you are heavily massaged with such vigor, bringing vitality to your very soul.
With all, waterfalls they're magical by their very existence.  You can’t fail to wonder where all this water can come from. Come and enjoy Bali through the eyes of “The Leading Villas of Bali ” and make this retreat while you are here.

The Hindu serenity that prevails on Bali.

The Hindu Serenity and all that's peaceful on Bali

Bali as a destination is fast coming of age, it is no longer the provincial back water romanticized by the song track emanating from "South Pacific" Bali Haii, Bali Haii referring to an era gone way by.. However, it has to be said, there are many areas that have not changed since those heady days of the 1950's or 60's. Bali has such beautiful golden sandy beaches, simply stunning sunsets, warm seas, but even that aside what really sets Bali apart and has not changed over the years except develop for the better, is best described in two parts;

1) Its Hindu serenity which lends itself so beautifully to the traveling vacationer, the way the Balinese gently drift within their environment, their prolific use of flowers or the Frangipani, their gentle and hospitable demeanor.

2) It is that of the Balinese lifestyle that has matured and matured so beautifully, the Balinese have long embraced open living where they live with their environment.  Kitchens that proudly sit with the garden all around, cool breezes that carry the heat from the times of grand family makan banquets, the sea breezes that allow you to enjoy the home without a care for pollution as the Balinese extended communities enjoying these cool breezes that comes off the turquoise seas.

Bali and its modern day designers and architects have taken all of this history and evolution of their lifestyle and produced, simply put, very opulent and stylish villas. Villas that grace the landscape so majestically, villas that are in perfect Harmony with their environment.. As you pass through the ornate wooden entrances you are then immediately met with manicured gardens that are in keeping with the growth that surrounds the plantations, there will be a pool which invariably drifts into an infinity relationship with the sea. Water has a significant place in the Balinese culture as it encapsulates the serenity and the Hindu ambiance that wafts throughout the lifestyle as their culture is at one with water, not as a feature, although to us it makes for a stunning feature on a vast lush landscape, it for its calming qualities that make it such an experience. Water will surround your every step as you pass to the open living areas of these stunning villas. Cool breezes will lift your very existences as you relax into this grand but simple lifestyle so synonymous with Bali. To appreciate the stunning Villas you can easily get a feel for the sheer magnitude of the design through www.theleadingvillasofbali.com

Bali in its development has still only touched the surface in regard to the potential that Bali has to offer the ever weary traveler, for example: Most resort areas are within a small peninsular operating from the south, the Peninsular being Nusa Dua. Only slightly outside of Nusa Dua and to its East is Sanur, to its west Seminyak. However if you take a view of a map you will see that vast amounts of coast line remain untapped. To this endeavour Bali have embarked on the planning stages of introducing a light railway, to travel along the coast throughout the entire island, I understand that the plans are advanced and that Bali by 2014 will have the makings of this railway linking the north to the south. Obviously as this evolves then remote unspoilt regions of Bali become increasingly available to the travelling public allowing ever more to experience the relaxation through Hindu serenity.

I make much of the Hindu serenity and their abundant use of the Fragipani flowers, a flower that is almost a complete symbol of all that is Balinese. But in addition and beautifully fused, you have an added serene experience as Bali has embraced the tranquil qualities of the Buddhist faith. The Buddha can be found as a central theme of many villa designs all of which add to the calming affects on you the weary holidaymaker.

To conclude as we all travel through life and bounce from all that is thrown, which in quantity has become more intense as this technological age bombards us with increasing simplistic ways in which to communicate, we are all in overload as there are few areas to escape such intense pressure. It is for this reason that Bali has become a sanctuary, with its calming qualities, Buddhist and Hindu serenity, its climate, warm seas and stunning unique villas, all of which allow your need for an intense period of a rejuvenation, a holiday as well as setting the scene for an extended period to reflect.

I will leave you with a few short lines of Bali Haii, true today as it was true over 60 years ago. Welcome to the Island of Bali:

Most people live on a lonely island,
Lost in the middle of a foggy sea.
Most people long for another island,
One where they know they will like to be.

Bali Ha'i may call you,
Any night, any day,
In your heart, you'll hear it call you:
"Come away...Come away."

Bali Ha'i will whisper
On the wind of the sea:
"Here am I, your special island!
Come to me, come to me!"

The Gold Contagion

The future of the West - in my opinion

It used to be very simple to see where the next big economic wave would come from, we had in the 80's the introduction of CAD CAM design innovation utilising technology, with such companies as Intergraph, ComputerVision, Calma to name but a few were heavily involved. However, as the decade progressed as did advancement in technology which then eroded the prices of this lucrative market.

What emerged during the 90's was the flourish of telecommunications, mobile telephony, data etc and with the advent of the Internet which was made easy by the introduction of SDH or Sonet technologies. This gave birth to this explosion in telephony and data products. What has happened now is that there is no new innovative wave emerging to take over from the saturation which has occurred in telecommunications. So big was this explosion as it affected masses worldwide!  We all became ahead of ourselves in our race to get wealth, Property exploded, equity exploded etc.. but what emerged was that the great financial cities / sector saw this hunger and fed it to the point of extinction in effect exploited this monumental growth and appetite. But, unlike Telecoms and CAD and all the other great innovations the financial sector did not own the money they were loaning, so which was the most greedy! The people or the financial sector

.
What has emerged since is no long an innovation drive but a safe haven growth, as few expect the great currencies of the world to survive intact through the re-building of their governments wealth. Hence, the peoples race towards gold and everything that glitters as a safe haven.

I would now go so far as to say that several areas will come to the fore, two areas in particular; over the course of the next decade; Inflation will be allowed to get out of control in the western world they need to demean the debt and as soon as they have worked a way through this then this is what you will see. This gives rise to the view that Gold will continue its advance. Alongside that will come the development or extraction of Shale oil. The world is rich in this resource, this way the west can keep a lid on the only real resource which dominates in its affects on oil based economies, this will allow the west to emerge from this crisis without too many scars. However, those heading for pension years which I am one then I’m afraid to say you / we are screwed.

The other area which is certain is that at some point soon 5-10years, there will be an explosive growth that will make the other growth sectors pale into insignificance. In short despite all the wealth that has been created, still few of the world’s population have enough to live on. These people are in Asia, they have embraced technology, they have prostituted themselves (for poor wages and conditions) over the years to the manufacturing thirst of the west!  What has emerged is that they are becoming richer which is slowly feeding on itself. When this happens watch this space.
