Bali Sun, See Beauty

As I sit in the Bamboo bar of the Prama Hotel Sanur, I am reading a book whilst enjoying a mid day coffee you can't help but notice how beautiful this stretch of the Bali Island is.  The Sands are almost white made more clean and crisp in the mid day sun, the sea is a stunning turquoise reflecting the clear sky.   The water is gentle due in part to the natural reef which is situated approx 400metres off shore.

The seas are a hive of activity yet this activity is not at all intrusive. the vast array of colours provided by the many wind surfers and their glorious technicolour sails that flash along the pale blue sky.  As I am not at all a sailor it's fascinating for me to see the speed of the surfer heading with the wind and against the wind, for me this defies logic.

As I sip my coffee and immerse myself in the latest Lee Childs Jack Reacher story. I am mindful that I am sitting on a white rattan wicker sofa with stylish turquoise cushions.  I am situated behind the beach and behind the red brick path that runs the full length of Sanur.  Mindful because this really is an idyllic place to absorb the activity relax into a coffee and generally people watch as they wander the path either by foot, by bicycle or even by Segway.

Segway (how on earth did they come by the name Segway) for me this is a bizarre form of travel, it looks awkward, uncomfortable and of course you must feel conspicuous due to your lofty elevation.  Bring back the beach donkey.

Sanur is particularly beautiful due mostly because it is one of the oldest resorts in Bali and has a mature tree line along its expanse of coastline.  The resort is blessed with many such hotels not just the Prama all have excellent beach positions and all provide necessary refreshments.  If its a cafe that you prefer then of course between the hotels are many fashionable restaurants and cafes with excellent beach facilities which are on the beach, tables and chairs as well as loungers if you wish to spend the day relaxing under the sunshine as it moves west over this picturesque island.
