Finance Upgrade Good for Bali?

I recently read an article in the Wall street Journal online version of which I commented on,  I will share that comment here on my blog, I strongly believe in Bali and the merits of Bali as a holiday destination as well as a place to invest. Indonesia has recently had its financial standing upgraded:

The world's finance houses have to start to take seriously the so called emerging markets as their pace of growth is a bright spot in the world economy. Bali is no exception quite the opposite to Europe right now it is a haven for Indonesia's aspirations. Since the mid 90's almost at the time that Indonesia embarked on a telecoms revolution bringing cellular to the masses Indonesians have been getting richer.

Indonesians much like Americans prefer to holiday within their own borders and Bali is known as a haven for visitors to relax and unwind. Almost without exception all Indonesians see Bali as the place they would prefer to live, not just to holiday, this in my mind makes Bali a hotspot on the global map of economic activity. Indonesians are getting richer and as such many can now achieve their aspirations. Bali is a small Island and cannot possibly sustain such a growth spurt as it is, this makes an investment in Bali a promising approach as their infra-structure will need a serious upgrade to secure this growth. But moving forward only the elite will be able to come here to live as this will be dictated to by the free market concept, making investment here a one way street.

So for my money I would encourage the rating agencies to think seriously about supporting such places as Bali as where else can they go.... Greece?

Consider this; in a region where wealth is generated, China, India etc.. how long will it be before jumbo jets full of Chinese or Indian tourists start to grace these tropical shores. The odds are on this place as a mecca of opportunity.  Bali so desperately needs investment for its infra-structure if it is to accommodate what is likely to be the inevitable rise in demand.

Bali without exception has some very attractive properties to rent or buy; such properties are a testament to the excellent style and creativity of the Balinese people. Take a look at www.theleadingvillasofbali.com, http://www.thevillas-bali.com or www.bookingvillasinbali.com or even www.budgetvillasinbali.com, you will easily see the style and sheer opulence that this Island has to offer they are simply stunning and a great example of the free market economy.
