The Resort Area of Candidasa, Spectacular scenery, spectacular Bali Private Villas

I had the pleasure today of travelling to the resort of Candidasa, still within the spirit of travelling around the Island of Bali I feel the need to blog about this experience and link it to the other blogs that explain this beautiful Island and its beautiful Bali Private Villas..

Candidasa is East of Bali, basically you take the Sanur Bypass, swing to the right as you travel north of Sanur , passing the Pandawa Bali Private Villas, see the article reference the Pandawas for the story of the Pandawa family as it makes fascinating reading as the story is poignant even in today’s family lives.  Continuing east eventually you will pass the Bali Safari and Marine park your journey will take you along a good dual carriageway which is one of the biggest roads in Bali.  The journey will take you over several bridges; two of which span a ravine type gorge and have the steel framed bridges that you often see in backwaters of American movies, practical nonetheless. On the road to Candidesa you, or at least I was struck by the scenery that surrounded us, on the right hand side you have the mountains of Agung, picturesque in all its glory, on the left side the water’s edge of the coastal front together with its vibrant blue/green seas.  The other point that struck me was the fewer numbers of cars and motorbikes that existed in this part of Bali, all in all, a very pleasant journey.  However, I should say that a great deal of sand extraction takes place in this part of Bali so you are graced with a considerable number of lorries travelling to and from the gravel pits that surround you.

However as you venture further east you are treated to a wonderful view of the island called Nusa Penida a very large hilly Island which sits a couple of miles from the Bali main land. It is still part of the Bali enclave and therefore remains a significant part of the Bali Archipelago, I am led to believe that there is little there although it appears graced with a range of hills and appears heavily forested, which was good to see, but no Bali Private Villas here.

As we travelled over the hills that precede the area of Candidasa you notice just how rural this part of Bali is. As you come down into the town itself you’re treated to a spectacular sight of light Sandy beaches, breaking surf that form the white tops making the turquoise sea look so fresh and so spectacular.

Candidasa is a Mecca of beautiful landscaped low rise hotels and Bali Private Villas, from what I could see they were as stunning as any Bali Private Villas that are on Bali.  This whole area seemed quieter, fresher less cluttered; there still seemed an abundance of good restaurants, spectacular scenery and wonderful surf.  Yet fewer cars, fewer people and fewer shops, there are no malls.

As we only went for the day we rolled up at the hotel Lotus Pond, which those of you who know Bali, Lotus pond is a chain of restaurants.  But the Lotus pond here in Candidasa of which there are two; one is a restaurant and the other a small hotel which consists of beautiful bungalows in a well landscaped garden area, as part of the garden is an infinity pool perched over a sandy beach area.

You should know, Bali whilst being Hindu, a claim to fame that forms the backbone of their mortal coil, They also have unique planning procedures being that no building can be built higher than a coconut tree, although one such structure managed to pass through the restriction, that is the hotel called the Inna Grand Bali Beach hotel which can be found in the Sanur area.

It is with this mind that you’re able to see such a rural setting preserved as Candidasa is so beautifully laid out as are the Bali Private Villas. A very attractive part of Bali and a great place to spend a few days no doubt..
